Scary Dream - Horror Story 

Was it just a scary dream? It is said that there is no such thing as a soul, ghost, vampire, or witch; these are just illusions of the human mind. But it is also true that, until one is faced with all these things, it is very difficult to believe in them.

 I am not blaming anyone because earlier I also used to think that things like wandering of the soul after death were just fabricated. In reality, nothing like this happens, but when I went to my husband's village for the first time after marriage, I also became convinced that if there is God in this world, then evil powers also reside equally. 

Last year, I went with my husband to my in-laws' house, which is in a village in Himachal. My husband's parents and other family members all live in the village. I had a love marriage and did not know much about the village environment and lifestyle. 

It was night by the time we reached the village. On the way, we saw a woman performing puja near a tree with some items. My husband also stayed in the city, so both of us ignored this incident by making fun of it. 

When we reached a little further, a woman was sitting on the roadside. Both of us felt that perhaps the woman was in some trouble and that, as human beings, we should help her. But then I thought that there might be some thieves and robbers who take advantage of the darkness to rob commuters. 

Well, even after thinking and understanding all this, we decided to help that woman. When we reached her, her crying started getting louder. She was crying with her head bowed. When we asked her what the problem was, she told me that someone had tied her partner near the tree behind, and she had wandered off alone. 

When we asked who she was, she started saying that we should go with her and free her companion. We said, let’s call the police, and we were surprised to hear their reply. He said, what can the police do? After death, we cannot even demand our safety. Both my husband and I started laughing, thinking perhaps this woman was not mentally well. 

When we started coming back towards our car, he said that you should not go further; the road ahead is not good. When we didn't listen to her, she started saying, Go-go, don't tell me again; you were not told. We thought, why is she saying this?

When we sat in the car, the road ahead was very dark and scary. It was a hilly area; hence, there was not much movement at night. We continued walking when suddenly some people were seen engaged in very strange activities on the roadside. Our car also suddenly broke down there, and they all started moving towards us. 

Suddenly, we saw that the woman whom we had left behind was sitting on the back seat of our car and was asking us to start the car again. At first, we were scared, but we were more scared after seeing some people with scary faces who were coming towards us. Our car started moving surprisingly well, and we covered a long distance. 

When I looked back, she wasn't even a woman. To this day, both of us wonder what happened that night. Was it just a scary dream?
